I had a crack at creating some electronic music. I know, not metal. I figured I would share this, and I have never done this before, so be gentle.
Check out Master Of The Situation in MP3 and Ogg format.
Created in Cubase with Halion One, a KeyRig and Drumkit From Hell.

Five years ago today, one of my heroes was murdered. Dimebag Darrell, guitarist from Pantera, Damageplan and Rebel Meets Rebel was shot while performing in Columbus, Ohio by Nathan Gale, a crazed fan disgruntled with the split of Pantera. The metal world and beyond was devastated by the news. In such a tight-knit and almost-tribal [...]

I just wanted to share with you an interesting little story that happened to us the other day.
A few days back my wife and I were in Macy’s in Union Square shopping. We were lined up to pay for a jacket when nature came knock knock knocking on my door. When I returned she was [...]

I have utter, unparaled love and adulation for the song Braindead by Exodus. The intro that song makes me want to jump around the room. It is the pure, unfiltered essence of thrash metal.
The album version is stunning, but I really love the insane live version on Good Friendly Violent Fun. You can just hear [...]

Blaze Bayley, former Iron Maiden singer and frontman of his own band Blaze recently had his wife Debbie pass away. While talking asbout this terrible news I found the following one of the saddest things I have ever read:
“Just as things really seemed to be going our way, Debbie suffered a second huge [...]

Fellow horseman, Jorge, and I are both big Metallica fans. Although we largely agree on what constitutes a great Metallica album (Master Of Puppets and …And Justice For All), Metallica have seen such a diverse change in their style, that fans have many different views on what makes the perfect ‘tallica album. Metallica really started [...]

I am planning to go and see Overkill on Monday night in at Islington Academy in London, but…alas…all on my lonesome. Anyone heading down to the gig?
would be fun to meet any Ubuntu / LugRadio / Free Software or otherwise people there for a night of thrash metal.

Mucho, mucho, mucho thanks to NickG for informing me that new tickets went on sale for Iron Maiden at Twickenham on Saturday. I consequently went and snapped up two tickets for Aq and I. This Saturday, we will be watching Iron Maiden re-creating songs that I have been listening to since I was 10 years [...]

Dammit! I missed out grabbing tickets for Iron Maiden at Twickenham on the 5th July. This is the tour I have been waiting years for. If anyone knows of any spare tickets I can get my hands on, please email me. I will be super grateful if someone can help hook me up with some [...]

You know what, every so often you see something and it directly equates to your dream for a particular part of your life. In terms of my musical ambitions, the video to Destroy Everything by Hatebreed perfectly sums up perfectly what I would love to do with my music, and not only that, but I [...]

Recently I have mentioned a new project of mine called Severed Fifth. Although I can’t announce it yet, things are really coming along together nicely with it. The team is largely assembled, and we are getting the website together. The announcement is largely written, and the content is largely written.
I want to clarify that this [...]

As work begins on the new project it struck me just how easy it is to build a collaborative framework these days. It is simple to get people working together on documents, on strategy, developing plans, sharing email, sharing tasks and more. As we try to figure out the future of our desktop, we absolutely [...]

You know what, learning death metal drumming is a pretty intense process. It requires an insane amount of investment - physical training and workouts, regular practise, creative focus, constantly learning from your fave drummers. Well, recently I felt I hit a new milestone in the process with a recording we (Seraphidian) did the other day [...]

Rock and roll. These guys are awesome, and this album is awesome. Sure, it is incredibly influenced by AC/DC and bits of Free, but has a real Slash’s Snakepit feel and a bit of Mötley Crüe thrown in there too. Good time rock and roll done right.
